In terms of an academic discipline, it is a subject of study with a range of topics and subjects. The author explains the fact that sports management as a procedure is about a methodical process of conducting things.

Chapter 2 is built around the subject of development and trends in the sports management field. In this chapter, Awoyinfa reveals that the development of theories regarding sports management goes to the time when people first tried to achieve their goals by working together as a group.
In his own words, “There was serious thinking and theorizing about management for prior to the beginning of the 20th (20th) century which was the time of the start of modern thinking about sports management.
The major efforts to create theories and concepts of management in sports began in the early 20th (20th) century through the research from Frederick Taylor and Henri Fayol. The industrial revolution in the 19th (19th) century may have provided the conditions for this important theorizing.”
He says that since the beginning into the twentieth century scholars on the subject of sports management and business theory have been advancing various theories on how to manage personnel and work more effectively and efficiently.
The author explains that the three major types of management theories are the classical; the human-behavioural and integrative. He is also a great source for early sports management theorists, concepts and traits of management science; the appraisal of the management theories of science and more. In this chapter.
The third chapter is thematically named “principles of management in sports”. The consultant for education clarifies that the sports principles are the foundational laws on which the practice of managing sports is based.
He adds that management guidelines must be based on broad terms in order for them to be able to be applied to sports organisations of various dimensions and characteristics. “Modern sports administrators and managers must be able to recognize and apply suitable principles that are applicable to specific circumstances. This is due to the fact that no single rule can be applied to all administrative scenarios,” submits Him.
He states that the basic concepts of sports are that are applicable to all sports organizations and, due to their universal acceptance they are sometimes called “universal rules of management for sports”.
The author explains the principles that include responsibility, the delegation of authority, and communication. Concerning the humanistic principles of management of sports, He identifies these as human relations, empathy compassion, consideration, empathy and humility.
In chapter 4, which is based on the notion of motivational and behavioral theories in the field of sports the author states that humans are unique since they behave differently under various conditions. They are also impossible to predict.
Hestates that, since humans are the most crucial element of the sports industry, managers of sports must be aware of the reasons individuals behave in either way or another in order they (sports managers) can influence individuals to behave in the exact manner they think is best for the sport.
A powerful tool that this writer suggests could be used to inspire the performance of the athletes are motivation. In his words “Motivation is a requirement in sports organizations to motivate employees work harder.
It is an important and challenging topic for managers of sports.” He then discusses the evolution of motivational concepts in the sport of sports and the application of theories of motivation to sports management, methods to modify behaviour as well as other methods of behaviour modification. In this chapter.
In chapters 5 to 10 In chapters five to ten, the author shines his analytical squint on issues like management techniques in the field of sports as well as the concept of sports organization designing design for sports organizations; the concept of planning in the administration of sports and making sports organizations more efficient in Nigeria and also staffing for the sports organizations.
Chapter 11 is about communication strategies used in sports organisations. According to Awoyinfa in this article communication is a key element in the effectiveness of any organization since organisations are unable to function in the absence of communication among their members. “Since communicating is the driving energy of an organisation it is a major reason why organizations slow down,” asserts this author.
In chapters 12-16, He X-rays concepts such as organizational changes and growth in management of sports; leadership in the field of sports administration and management as well as management and administration of coaching soccer teaching health and human kinetics in colleges and schools; and the management and organization of schools at different stages of schooling.
Regarding the style of presentation the text gets with a passing grade. In particular, the language is easy to understand and the ideas are beautifully communicated. The simple language is not surprising, given the author’s dual profession as a pastor and lecturer. To facilitate the study of the text’s readers’ portion, He highlights the objectives of every chapter in the beginning and closes with review/revision questions.
Furthermore, he cleverly embellishes the text using graphics (pages 50, 97, 317 338 3, 338, 395 etc.) to improve the understanding of readers by using visual language. He provides in each chapter references, to meet the obligations of disclosure to the source and give readers the opportunity to study more. The inclusion of a variety of references proves that he has done a thorough work. The choice of visual distinctions in the title “Modern Fashions” within the subtitle is incredibly innovative.
If there are any chapters which can be suitable as a compilation of the most current solutions to issues of management and administration that plague the development of sports in Nigeria These are chapters 4, 8 eleven and thirteen. They deal with motivation planning, motivation, communication, and leadership.
The most thematically significant chapter the four chapters is Chapter 4. Its being either consciously or subconsciously believed to be the best chapter is reflected in the deeper connection and coherence between the subject matter on one hand and the cover’s outer cover’s allegorical or metaphorical images like the goal post, cyclists racing or a lawn tennis player ready to take on the world using their bats, athletes playing and footballers fighting to get ball possession in contrast. These images are used as visual representation in motivational speech.
